Remote activation with URL scheme

Introduction

The activation itself is executing URL link, which contains 16 digit product code in its body on a device.
The activation can thus become a one-time single-click operation done from outside of Sygic application.

This type of activation is suitable with cases where the id's of your set of devices are unknown,
and when you do not want to distribute licenses as usernames exploiting login scheme.
But important, it is assumed that you are able to distribute unique URL links to each device under activation.
Please note that this type of activation requires internet access for a short moment during activation operation.

This type of activation is available for the following versions of Sygic navigation:

  • Sygic Fleet 3D for Android
  • Sygic Truck 3D for Android
  • Sygic Taxi 3D for Android

Generation of URL links

First, you need to obtain the list of product codes. You can get the list e.g. from your Partner site account license allocation. See Partner Site manual for more information.
And next, you need to create list of URL links with each product code in the following form:

   com.sygic.aura://activate|productCode

Example:

   com.sygic.aura://activate|XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

Activation

With each URL link execution you can activate just one license, i.e. one unique device. The license is bound to the device id. With the link execution, Sygic application is automatically started and activated, and it continues with map download dialog unless maps are preinstalled.

Mass license activation

For activating multiple devices you need to distribute corresponding number of URL links to your set of devices.
You may create any sophisticated process, which you find useful.
In a simplest form, it can be an email or sms, which contains the link clickable in the message body.
The email or sms is sent to each owner of your set of devices, who will perform the activation by clicking on the link in the message.
